Interview

Why should I recruit you ?

Why should you recruit me? First of all, I think I have the maturity needed to leave my country, my family, people close to me and finally, to be on my own. Furthermore, my two older sisters taught me a lot about their experiences. One left for a year to California at 16 years old to improve her English. The other one left for the purpose of going backpacking alone through Asian countries at 21 years old. So, now it feels like it’s my turn to live my own experience. I am a youngster who is attached to values notably to sports values such as respect, determination and many others. I can now say that my real asset is my mental. Life has tested me a lot lately and I learned a lot during the year of 2018, and I will learn even more in the future but now, I am fully conscient that whatever difficulty I’ll encounter, I’ll overcome it in any way. I think I could be a motivating person in the team, listening to advice, and determined at both school and athletics.

Why do you want to compete at US Colleges?

American universities seem to be the place to be to succeed: on one hand my athletic life and on the other hand my professional life. Being a young French high schooler, I have the desire to see how life for a student in an American university is. Furthermore, the campus life, sharing strong moments with my team and travel in neighboring states seem to be a good fit for me. I feel like being days after days with the team is nice to integrate, make friends, and have a second family to count on. I’ve always seen the United States like leaders in most of the sports. That’s why today, I want to confront myself to the American “high level” and also to learn new things.

What do you want to achieve in Track/XC?

Like all ambitious athletes, I’m thinking about the future such as the Olympic Games of 2024 in Paris but also the ones of 2028 in Los Angeles. These events are obviously far away but I think it is necessary to make plans in the future. For my “cadet 2” ‘s year, I would like to make a national podium on 1500 or 3000 meters depending on the performances realized during the season. Then, my second target would be to participate at the FOJE this year.

College and life goals?

At the athletic level, I’d like to make a high-level sports career. For my life, I’d like first of all to enroll in law or in trade management, and to be entirely fluent at the end of college. And finally live an incredible life experience which would be essential to my adult life.

Anything to add ?

I’m ready for this adventure. So, I hope you’re too!
